The Old Corn Mill: This 16th century watermill has been restored, and there is also much information about the way it worked. There is still unique pottery made at the mill, which visitors can browse and buy if they choose, as well as a demonstration of a potter's wheel. You can even make a pot which will then be glazed and posted to you!

Chambercombe Manor: This manor is rich in history, located in a sheltered valley, and was famous for being mentioned in the Domesday book of the 11th Century. The grounds boast some beautiful gardens and ponds for visitors to take a stroll, or you can visit the tea room for some lunch or cream tea.

Ilfracombe Museum: This museum is located right in the centre of the town and contains many collections related to its history. This includes artefacts related to the sea, and the way that the locals have enjoyed and worked with the sea throughout history. Visitors can browse through pictures and information relating to the development of the local area, and get an understanding of Ilfracombe's roots.

Lundy Island: Take a trip from Ilfracombe's harbour to the tranquil Lundy Island. Lundy is the Norse word for Puffin, and people come here to see the puffins. You have to be prepared if you want to see them, as they are famous for hiding away in the steep cliffs. However, there is plenty else to do here, with beautiful walks and sights. You can also see the small shop, the pub, the Victorian era church, and a castle that was built by Henry III. Despite the quietness of the island, there is much to do, including bird watching, walking and more. There are generally no cars on the island, so it's a great place for people who want to escape for a while.

Watermouth Castle and Theme Park: Watermouth castle was originally built in Victorian times. Today it showcases a number of interesting objects, including musical instruments, an underground water fountain show making use of lights and music, a model railway, and dungeon labyrinths.

What makes the castle a perfect day out for the whole family is the fact that it's also got extensive gardens with a number of rides suitable for all ages. You can also take part in activities such as panning for gold, view the animated fairy tale scenes, play mini golf and more. There is also a restaurant, gift shop, and free parking for visitors.

Local Entertainment: There are a number of festivals and events throughout the year. These are mainly held around the quayside in the historic harbour as well as the Landmark Theatre.

In fact, the coastline is under the management of the National Trust, and has an interesting history of smuggling and shipwrecks, as well as being important in the D-Day landings.

Victorian Celebrations: There are Victorian celebrations every year in June, including a number of activities and stalls, people dressed in authentic costume, and fireworks to round it off.
